During the service call our Service Technician will be pleased
to answer any questions you may have about your equipment
and will advise you about proper filter maintenance. Some
of the key checks performed by our licensed Service Technicians
include:
Humidifier
- Check and adjust saddle valve and water
tubing
- Clean humidifier water pan
- Inspect and test fill valve
- Check drain hose/piping
- Check motor and water pump
- Inspect water panel or pad; replace if required
- Test humidistat
- Clean-up/vacuum around base of unit
Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV)
- Wash or replace filters with new ones
- Remove and wash core
- Vacuum interior section as required
- Apply fungicidal cleaner and wipe with damp cloth the
interior section
- Clean-up/vacuum around base of unit
- Oil motors
Air Conditioner
- Check and clean outdoor coil
- Check and clean indoor coil
- Check wet and dry bulb temperature
- Check superheat
- Check pressure drop across evaporator
- Test system safety devices
- Lubricate moving parts as required
- Check condensate drain
- Check start contactor
- Tighten electrical connections
- Clean-up/vacuum around base of unit
Packaged System/Heat Pump (Heating
& Cooling)
- Check outdoor unit fan motor and lubricate
if require
- Check contactor contacts; replace if necessary
- Check electrical wiring and terminals
- Check all safety components
- Check compressor operation
- Check reversing valve for proper operation
- Check reversing valve for proper operation
- Check thermostat operation
- Check unit for defrost and heat (winter only)
- Check unit excessive noise and vibration
- Check crankcase heater
- Check refrigerant charge
- Inspect indoor and outdoor coils; clean if necessary
- Check all safety and pressure switches
- Check motor and heaters/voltage/amperes
- Check back-up heat and emergency heat source and controls
for proper operation and amperage
- Measure temperature rise in emergency heat mode
- Clean-up/vacuum around base of unit
Hot water Heater (Gas)
- Drain water until it clears up
- Check temperature-pressure relief valve operation
- Clean burners*
- Clean and adjust pilot assembly*
- Check vent
- Clean-up/vacuum around base of unit
*extra time may be needed if required
Boilers
- Flush out water, replace with new
- Put in rust inhibitor
- Check controls
- Check heat exchange
