Frequently Asked Questions
- Electric Fireplaces
1. Where is the best location
to install an electric fireplace?
Since these fireplaces are considered
decorative appliances, they can be located virtually
in any room in your home.
2. How difficult is it to install
an electric fireplace and is the installation permanent?
Electric fireplaces are easy to
install as they plug into any standard 120 volt outlet.
While they can be built in like regular fireplaces,
including them in a cabinet is a much more convenient
installation. Free standing models can be relocated
at any time from room to room. Some smaller models
are smaller and fit into prefabricated masonry fireplaces.
These models can go with you when you move or be included
in a house purchase.
3. Do these fireplaces or stoves
require venting?
No. Because these fireplaces and
stoves are electric, no venting is required. If you
are installing into an existing fireplace, the chimney
or liner should be plugged to prevent drafting.
4. How close can I install an
electric fireplace or stove to a combustible wall?
Because these electric products
have a low BTU rating, no clearances are required.
5. How does an electric stove
or fireplace operate?
With the heater option, they are
designed to provide a comfortable level of heat. Each
unit produces 1450 watts of power and 4500 BTU's.
A randomized filtered lighting simulates flame pattern
and glowing logs.
6. Can I adjust flame and heat
output?
Yes. Most electric fireplaces
have an adjustable flame height and lighting control
switch. An optional heat/fan system can be added to
heat to your room.
